After years of relying on other equipment to drive Grado headphones, you can now listen and enjoy headphones through our new Grado Reference Headphone Amp, the RA-1. Designed for state-of-the-art performance and specifically to play Grados, the new RA-1 will allow you to hear your headphones like never before. This new amp is machined from a solid block of mahogany. It measures a mere 5" wide, 5½" deep, 1½" tall and weights in at twelve ounces. Two 9-volt batteries will drive the amp for 40 to 50 hours of listening pleasure. And the sound? Just like all Grados: warm, smooth, full-bodied, non-fatiguing and rich. Hook it up to any line source (portable or in-home) and drive your Grado headphones to their full potential. A must for any serious headphone listener.

SETUP

Insert two 9-volt batteries.
Connect the inputs of the headphone amp to any high-level line source, ie: cd-player, tape player, tape out of any pre-amp.
Plug in your headphones.
Make sure level is down.
Turn on amp.
Place headphones on your head and adjust listening level.
Note: When the amp is turned on or off a pop sound will occur. We are able to eliminate the pop but we did not care for what this did to the sonic quality of the amp. So the trade off is the pop for better listening. If the pop is extremely annoying to you, be sure to have the headphones off your head whil turning your amp on and off. This pop will not hurt your headphones.
Listen at reasonable levels and your hearing will be preserved. Cherish it, preserve it.

HAPPY LISTENING!
